โ“ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are my notes secure? Can the admin see them?
A: Notes are stored with AES-256-GCM encryption. Raw server files show only ciphertext โ€” the administrator cannot directly read your notes.
Setting a password adds access control (bcrypt-hashed) on top of encryption.
Despite encryption, we still recommend against storing passwords, ID numbers, or credit card details in any online tool.

Q: If I set a password, can others still edit my note?
A: Yes. The password is a "door lock" โ€” anyone who enters the correct password gains full edit access, same as the creator.
If you need strict read-only sharing, consider taking a screenshot or using Google Docs.

Q: Does it support real-time collaborative editing?
A: No. Multiple people editing at the same time will overwrite each other โ€” the last save wins.
We recommend one person editing at a time, or using it as a "relay note" where people take turns.

Q: Will my notes be lost?
A: Notes are stored on the server and should persist. However, this is a temporary note service โ€” long-term storage is not guaranteed.
Strongly recommended: regularly [Download] important notes as TXT files to your own device.

Q: Can I upload images or files?
A: Currently text-only. You can embed image URLs in Markdown (![](image-url)) and they will display in preview mode.
File uploads and attachments are not supported.
